Other Moving Charges
In addition to our rates for moving and move-out cleaning charges, there are a few other charges you should be aware of. The charges shown below are per occurrence only, and will only be applied to your moving bill in the event one is needed.
Pianos & Large/Heavy Items
We charge an additional fee on top of our normal hourly rates to move pianos and other excessively bulky or heavy items; such as pool tables and safes. For items that are part of a larger movement, we charge an additional $125 per bulky/heavy item. If the piano or other large item is the only thing being moved we typically offer just a flat rate (as shown below).
NOTE: For pianos, we're considered one of the best piano movers in Tampa. However, we only move baby grand pianos. If you need to move a baby grand piano, the total cost to move this piano will be $400.
On occasion when items cannot fit up a stairway, a hoist is another possible option. This involves adequately wrapping the furniture, then fitting straps by which we pull the item up to a window or balcony. Sometimes it is not safe to hoist an item. We will never do a hoist in rain. We can always reschedule the hoist for better weather. If we determine that the structure of the building is unsound in some way we will not do a hoist. For instance, if a balcony railing is rotted we will not proceed. Also, if there is a tree or electrical wires in the way or the window we need to use requires carpentry to remove it; that will also stop a hoist. For such hoists, we charge $50 for the first item and $25 for each subsequent item, plus the time it takes to perform the hoist.
Between the hours of 7 pm and 6 am, we charge after-hour rates. Any work that is done during those hours is subject to an additional $10 per hour charge. As an example: if your move is scheduled to start at 5 pm with 2 movers assigned to it; you will be charged our standard $99 per hour from 5 pm to 7 pm and $109 per hour for each hour after 7 pm that our movers work. The availability of after-hours service is subject to both availability and safety.
If you need to have goods loaded on one day, but delivered on another we offer overnight storage at a cost of $100 per night/per truck (and this is based upon availability). This can be helpful if you have to move out on the 31st, but can't move in until the 1st. Often times the closing dates for houses or condos necessitate a day or two worth of on-truck storage. The truck(s) are stored at our facility in Tampa and will be both locked and tagged with tamper-proof lock mechanisms.
We also offer additional services to help you get settled in after your move, or if you are preparing to sell a home. From picture hanging to junk removal in Tampa, we're here to help you get from where you are to where you're going. Give us a call or contact us today to inquire about how we can help.
If we deem it to be unsafe to pick up or deliver goods due to inadequate or unsafe roads, poor building structure, overhead obstructions, narrow gates, etc, we will either make ourselves available at a pick up point or deliver to a place as near to the destination as we deem safe. If either of these options are unacceptable to the customer, we may place the cargo or any part of it that is not reasonably possible to deliver, in storage at the nearest available storage facility. Our normal transportation charges apply for this service and our liability will end when the cargo is unloaded at the warehouse or storage facility and will be considered delivered. We are not responsible for any fees incurred at the storage facility or warehouse. If the customer requests that we use smaller equipment and/or provide extra labor to get the cargo where it needs to go, and the customer is responsible for additional charges such as rental fees, labor and travel. These rules are set up for both the safety and well being of our movers and our trucks as well as the customer and his or her goods.
